Sleepy Dancers is a community-centered living space in Los Angeles designed specifically for dancers. Whether you’re in town for auditions, workshops, or training intensives, we provide a safe, affordable, and supportive home—just steps from the city’s top studios.

A Legacy Rooted in Dance & Dedication
Sleepy Dancers was founded by Artistic Director and Choreographer Free Boogie. In his earlier years, Free traveled across the world to Japan in search of a dream and ended up staying in a hostel. Unfortunately, he had a horrible experience. He stayed in a small, dirty, box of a room, no one spoke any English and management was never there. After that he vowed that once he was back in the USA, he’d never allow another dancer to experience what he did and created Sleepy Dancers!
Free first opened this haven for dancers in 2006 and has given a comfortable home to thousands of dancers for the last 12 years. Providing a safe, clean space to international dancers is one of the small ways Free gives back to the dance community. He created a home where after a long day of training and pursuing your dreams, you can comfortably be a Sleepy Dancer.
